Abstract
Chemical analysi!': of total lipids and fatty acid composition of Trogodenna granan'um was carried out to envisage Ihe effect of irradiated hosts diet on these constituents. Total body lipids were affected indirectly by feeding of arvae on the irradiated diet. The results showed that the fatty acids changed according to the host. There were qualitative and quantitative differences In the individual fatty acid composition between male and femsle.
Radialion was effective in changing the saturated and unsaturated fatty acid concentrations especJally for 18: 2 and 18 : 3 which are essential for n rmalgrowth. development and adult emergence.
In general, it coutd be concluded thaI ratty acid compcsluon affected indirectly by feeding of larvae on the irradiated hosts diet, and consequcentry affect the biological activity of insects.
