Abstract
Field experiments were carried out at the Experimental Far ; Faculty of
Agriculture. Saba Basha, Alex. University during two successive gro Ing seasons
1999 and 2000 to evaluate the effect of three slow release pink ballworm pheromone
formulations; Rope·PBW, SeJibale and last night . and I or profenofqs (curacrcn)
insecticide In special regimes against pink bollworm. pectinophora gossyp < /em>,iella (saund)
. The percent Infsttation, phonologlesl characters of cotton plants an~ fiber quality
were recorded. The experiments showed the following results.
1- The pheromone formulations applied followed by two applications of the
insecticide gave good control of the pInk bollworms as compar;o with the
insecticlde in four applications according to 8 regular program.
2· The highest reduction in the cotton bolls Infestation was Induced by Regime( n) (
Rope· pawl cvracronl selibale! curacronJ followed by Regime ( T2) [ Last flighV
Curacronl selibatel Curacron] and Regime( T3) r Selibate I Curacron I Last flight I
Curacronj. The least reduction in bollwoms infestation was accrued 'in the
insecticide treatment. Regardlng to the cotton varieties, it is 0 vious that
Cultivator GizaeS is superior using regime (T1) (Rope· PBWI Curacron/selibalel
curacronphroughoul1999 and 2000 seasons respectively.
3- The results also indicated that the pheromonel insecticide applications reduced
the yield losses, also increased the number 01 green bolls/Plants and gave better
fiber Quality as compared with the insecticide treatments.
