Abstract

The feeding capacity of the three adult • predators. Chrysopa
septempunctala
Wesm., Coccinella septempunclsls L., and Coccinella
undec
impuflctsts L. on soli scale insect, Coccus hesperidum L. was evaluated under
laboratory and field cosnditions, where different densities from eve~ predator
indj'~idual, ;lamely 1,4, 6, 8 and 10 were int~odLJced for eighty indivicuals of they prey.
C. undecimpunctsts showed the highest feeding capacity in both laboratory and (ield
conditions, and that was for almost all population densities of the predat9r. On the
other hand the feeding capacity in the field was higher than that in the labdratory for
the three experimental predators. Also, in csse of single predator (density: 1), Ihe.
feeding capacity was higher than all other densities (4, 6,8 and 10). This was common
lor the three experimental predators under both field and laboratory conditions.
